City of Angels: Grieving in Community For Our Community (Hosted by Dr. Julie Shaw via Reimagine)

City of Angels: Grieving in Community For Our Community

In the wake of the devastating fires in Los Angeles, grief has touched so many of us—whether through personal loss, witnessing the pain of others, or feeling the weight of collective grief. This virtual gathering is an opportunity to come together, no matter where you live, to process grief as a community. Join Dr. Julie Shaw, Certified Grief Educator, and a panel of compassionate experts for a heartfelt session exploring the power of collective grief and how it connects and impacts us all.

This event is open to anyone who seeks connection, understanding, or simply a space to grieve together. Whether you’ve been directly affected by the fires, are supporting someone who has, or are feeling the ripple effects of this shared tragedy, you are welcome here. Let’s honor our emotions, reflect on the meaning of collective grief, and support one another on the path toward healing.

What to Expect During the Session:

  • A panel discussion on the impact of the Los Angeles fires and the role of collective grief in community healing.

  • Opportunities to share your experiences and be witness to the stories of others.

  • Guided reflections to help you process your grief and connect with a larger sense of community.

 January 22nd, 2025 12-1pm PST

RSVP by buying your ticket here: https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/11e14420-a765-4709-a402-4e30e039e10b

At age 6, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Although she was given a 50% chance of living one year, Melody beat the odds and has been celebrating life for 41 years. Following her motto of "celebrate life every day," we are overjoyed to be able to celebrate this beautiful occasion.

This celebration of life party is a celebration of Melody's 41 "extra" years of life, and how she has filled them with joy, resilience, family, love, and endless advocacy for the cancer community. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with our Luna Peak family.
